Blueridge Hunting Lodge spans over 12,000 acres of the finest
Trophy deer country in the South - right in the heart of
Alabama's Trophy Belt. The soil in the Trophy Belt produces the
essential protein that produce trophy racks. And, with the
abundance of nutritional food, we consistently harvest 3 1/2 year
old bucks that weigh 200-250 pounds with racks from 18 to 24 inch
spreads.
In order to sustain a quality herd, our program is managed as a quality hunting operation should be. We accept only 14 hunters max. per hunt to minimize the hunting pressure and to provide each hunter with an excellent chance for a quality buck and hopefully a Trophy. However, we do not promise or guarantee you a whitetail buck as these are wild animals which are smart and elusive!
We have our properties set up so that you the Hunter have the choice of hunting in a "Trophy Buck Only Area" or in an area where you can harvest any buck. This is your choice and you may mix your hunting time between areas if you so desire!
Success ratios during our previous seasons on "Bucks Only" have ranged from 30-85%!

With a late rut you have the opportunity to hunt our prime rut long after your season has ended. All day hunting is recommended, a long day will often pay off with the buck of a lifetime. We have killed several bucks grossing and some netting in the 150+ Boone & Crockett category. Generally the January hunts are best due to the rut. But the early season hunts have also produced some great trophies, due to our fight hunting pressure.
We offer only weekday hunting, this gives us and the game a rest. Most of our competitors offer 3 & 4 day hunts which gives them 7 days a week hunted This causes, we feel, unnecessary pressure and only hurts the chances of the client harvesting older, mature bucks.
We limit the early season rifle hunts to only 3 days to decrease pressure on the deer. Since early season hunts do not give the hunter the advantage of hunting the rut, we feel less pressure increases kill ratios for early part of the season.
Our rifle hunts are normally booked early by repeat hunters, if you have an interest in a particular week we recommend you call as early as possible.

We have very mild winters, no fall season & very low pressure on our properties. These add up to extremely high turkey populations. Expect a lot of action, it is not uncommon to be able to work multiple gobblers on a single morning. We have had many years where our kill percentages have exceeded 90%. During our spring hunts, we accept only 6 hunters per hunt to preserve the supreme quality hunt that keeps our guests returning each and every spring!

1995 will see a completely new bowhunting strategy implemented
here at Blueridge. We feel this new program is one of the best
opportunities available today. With 30 new food plots, designed
specifically for bowhunters, ready for '95, the bowhunter will
get multiple shot opportunities.
We are so confident in this that we will give back $300, on any 5 day hunt, to a bowhunter who fails to get a 30 yard shot!!! How can we make such a guarantee? This year we will patten deer and place stand site's for the hunter. In years past we left stand placement up to the hunter. With hunters being new to an area we found this too difficult, thus we will do the stand placement! With years of experience on our land we can put you in the deer's lap!
