FISHING
CAMP FALAISE/ AMERICAN PLAN TROPHY BROOK TROUT, OUANANICHE, LAKE TROUT PIKES
CAMP FALAISE - On the Caniapiskau Watershed, 75 air miles west of Schefferville can only be reached by seaplane. Excellent fishing for Ouananiche (lankloked Salmon) average weight 3 lbs up to 10 lbs, Brook Trout, average weight 3 lbs up to 8 lbs, Lake Trout and Great Northern Pike, average weight 5 lbs up to 30 lbs.
In this vast area of lakes, rivers, rapids and streams, with plenty of white water to fish in, you can fish from the canoe, from the shore, by wading or trolling.
Altogether we fish an area of over 60 miles and by having the camp restricted to 6 people you can be assured of good fishing. It is strictly fly fishing from July 27th to September 5th. Special areas are reserved for it.
CATCH AND RELEASE
Trophy sport fishing in the Falaise rivers will remain superb as long as we continue to return fish unharmed to the waters maintaining this philosophy of "Catch and Release" for Speckled Trout and keeping only trophies for mounting, will ensure the continued strength of the natural wild stock. Fisherman will be allowed to keep one TROPHY BROOK TROUT and will release all others.
Your guide will provide advice on safe handling and unhooking the fish to be released. After their trophies are selected, the fishermen will have to cut the barb off the hook if they want to continue to fish. This will reduce the danger of injuring fish. We also arrange for taxidermy services if you desire.
