FACILITIES
Our Whitetail camp consists of wall tents with wood floors and wood heaters. A full-time cook is on hand to prepare good home- cooked meals.
For the Black Bear hunts, the clients will stay in the local motor hotel at their own expense.
ABOUT THE WHITETAIL AREA:
The Duck Mountains are located in west central Manitoba along the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border. This is home to some of the largest whitetails in North America.
The terrain consists of rolling hills laced with rivers, creeks, grassy meadows and numerous lakes.
The forest cover is a mixture of Spruce, Pine, Aspen, Birch and Willow. Vehicle use is restricted in this area therefore, hunting pressure is low. Elevation, approximately 1900 ft.
ABOUT THE BLACK BEAR AREA:
This area is located 50 miles north of Swan River, Manitoba in G.H.A. #14. There has been very little hunting pressure here so the bears are numerous and the size is real good. Over the past two years, three hunters shot three bears and two of them were over 500 lbs.
THE HUNT:
All hunts are based on two clients per guide. We hunt mainly from large platform tree stands or ground blinds. Shots can vary from 15 yards to 400 yards or more. All hunts are 6 days (Mon.- Sat.).
BOOKING POLICY:
To confirm your hunt, a down payment of 1/3 of the hunt cost is required. The balance is payable upon arrival by cash, cashier's cheque or traveller's cheque. We can accept personal cheques for the down payment but not as the final payment.
HUNTERS MAY TAKE ON TIMBER WOLF DURING WHITETAIL SEASON AT NO COST.
ABOUT MYSELF:
I was born and raised in the Swan River Valley and I have hunted the area since 1968. I have guided in this area since 1987 and I will continue to guide many of my clients in the years to come. My guides are all professionals with years of experience and we will do our utmost to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable trip.
