Our lodge is a nice two-story county home located in the middle of our hunting areas. We offer good home-cooked meals and plenty of good southern hospitality. All you need to bring is your toilet articles and a cooler to take back your game.

We have tracts of land located in Colleton and Hampton counties which are the two highest deer producing counties in South Carolina. Out hunting lands consist of open farm land, pine woods and hardwood swamps. Because of our hunting areas, we can insure each hunter plenty of privacy and a lot of undisturbed game.

We take hunters out and put them on a stand generally for 2 to 4 hours in the morning and the same in the afternoon. If a hunter wants to hunt longer in the middle of the day, we will gladly let him. We also offer specialty hunts such as swamp canoe hunts and antler rattling hunts (during rutting periods).

Doe permits will be given to use by the State on or after October 1st. Doe permits will be allocated accordingly.

We specialize in helping the novice hunter get his or her first deer. We can't guarantee you a deer, but we can guarantee a good hard hunt and we will do everything we can to help you bag your buck!

Due to our hunting terrain, we recommend hunters bring shotguns as well as high powered rifles with scopes. Also, it is advisable to bring rain gear, rubber boots or hip waders, insect repellent and a good flashlight.

Booking Policy

All bookings must be accompanied by a cashiers check or money order for half or the booking. The balance to be paid upon arrival. Checks or money orders must be made payable to Wildlife Management Company. In case of cancellation, no refunds will be given without a three week notice. If possible, we will reschedule your hunt.

SPECIALTY HUNTS

• We offer hunts deep in the Salkehatchie Swamp which is accessible only by canoe. We have over six miles of swamp.
• We have comfortable platforms built in the swamp across deer runs which prove to be very successful.
• Rattling hunts will be offered during rutting periods. You will be taken individually into areas specially selected for rattling. This hunt is not for the faint at heart. You must be in good physical condition.
• Turkey hunts are offered during Turkey Season, which is March 15 through May 1. The limit is 5 gobblers per season. 2 per day. Hunting is with shotgun (no buckshot) and archery equipment only.

RULES

• We adhere to all State and Federal regulations without exception.
• No alcohol will be allowed while on a stand or during hunting hours.
• We allow two deer per day, on per morning hunt and one per afternoon hunt. If you kill more than one per morning or one per afternoon hunt, you will be charged for an extra day's hunt.

The Lodge is located one hour and fifteen minutes from both the Augusta, Georgia airport and the Charleston, South Carolina airport. Pick up and return to the airports can be arranged. Please call for details.

FISHING & DOVE HUNTING

We are located in what we feel must be the red breast (bream) capital of the world! May through July offers great bream and bass fishing in the Salkehatchie Swamp. Fishing trips include a full day of fishing, fish frys and scenic tours for those who enjoy the wild beauty of swamps. Having the Salkehatchie at our back door offers unlimited recreational possibilities and the beauty of the swamp unsurpassed.
