The Mystique of the Wolf continually holds our interest in this much maligned species. Once persecuted out of fear, our growing knowledge of this social animal is helping to ease these fears and increase our understanding of their important role in the balance of nature. I chose to portray this pair snuggled together waiting out the storm protected under snow draped branches. Their acceptance of dominate and subordinate roles lays the foundation for the BONDS OF WINTER.
