About Us | Other Specialties

Myrtle Ranch Myrtle Ranch consist of 7300 acres, all of which is high fenced. It is located in the beautiful rolling hills of central West Texas. Oaks, mesquites and cedar provide the dominant cover on our ranch. The headquarters sits 30 miles south of Abilene and only 2.5 hours west of Dallas. Water is plentiful here on the ranch and we also own the north shore of a 2000 acre lake.

The closest airport to the ranch is Abilene Regional Airport, it provides several flights daily to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport .

We are involved in a very intense wildlife management program overseen by biologist from Texas Parks and Wildlife. The biologist make recommendations concerning habitat and the wildlife, and we pay very close attention to these recommendations. Aerial and spotlight surveys are conducted annually to gain population estimates. We feed a 20 percent ration, year round, free choice to all of the wildlife on the ranch. This ration extracts the full genetic potential of all animals, and also develops the maximum antler growth. It has been proven that without Nutrition, antlers will not reach full genetic potential and also what growth is achieved comes at a slower pace. We also plant hundreds of acres in food plots annually. Every year we remove the inferior animals and also maintain a buck doe ratio of approx. I buck for 1. 5 does.

Airport transfers, lodging, meals, guides and trophy care are all included in the hunts . Lodging can either be on the ranch in our guest houses or at a local motel.

We offer 2 types of whitetail hunts, they are trophy and management. Our trophy hunts are for animals that will score over 130 B&C , most will in the 140's and a few will score over 150. These trophies typically have 5 inch + bases and an average inside spread of 18 inches. The price for the trophy hunt is $200. per day plus a harvest fee of $3,000. A second trophy may be harvested at a discounted harvest fee of $2,000., however it is necessary to reserve the second trophy at the same time that you reserve the hunt. The management hunt is for whitetails scoring under 130 B&C. These are still exceptional deer, they have just past there prime, or we feel they will never mature enough to warrant keeping. This hunt is $200. per day plus a harvest fee of $1,400. A second management buck sells for $1,000. After harvesting your trophy or your management buck you may harvest 2 does and a turkey at no additional harvest fee. Whitetails can be hunted during the months of November, December and part of January.

We pride ourselves in providing the best quality whitetails in West Texas and the best value anywhere. Our pricing schedule guarantees your satisfaction.
