Christmas Break |
Sometime in mid January, depending on the weather (El Nino and all), we will leave for
Wimberley, Texas to visit Lee Mack Turner*. We will stay in Wimberley for several weeks where Mike plans to "set up" to paint for a while.
In mid February, we will travel to Fulshear, Texas to visit David Dyke* and then on to Houston for a few days at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
In early March we plan to travel to Prescott, Arizona, to visit Mary Ann Halverson* and then on to Lake Havasu, Arizona, to visit Harry Stevens*. We will be in Arizona for several weeks so Mike can get some painting completed. We'll be making a quick trip to Las Vegas sometime during our stay to visit Billy Hyatt*.
We will head back to Arkansas in mid April where we'll stay until late May. In June and July we plan to go to Meeteetse, Wyoming to visit Curtis Larsen* and then on to Cody to visit Don Schmaltz*. If all things go according to plan, we will be moving our "home base" to Sheridan, Wyoming at about the same time.
Like they say...nothing is set in stone and everything is subject to change. Mike has been asked to schedule visits along the way to schools, community art clubs, etc. which he will try to accommodate within reason. As such visits are added, the itinerary will change by a day or two. These changes will be made to the website as they are available.
Mike will be donating a hand carved rocking horse he built in 1996 to be used in the Target House in Memphis. Target House is scheduled to open in the Spring of 1998 and will provide housing for children receiving treatment at St. Jude's Research Hospital and their families.
